Katherine and her first born, Sara, in Whistler 2015. Katherine was six months pregnant with her second daughter, Kaya.
I believe that childbirth is a normal, beautiful, sacred part of life.
I believe that connecting with your intuition allows for a more gentle and grounded path to parenthood.
I believe in mother-led, family-centred childbirth.
Childbirth is the ultimate teacher.
Through birthing my four babies, on-going study, and witnessing the sacred work of birthing women, I continue to deepen my capacity as a guide and mirror for others. I am a lifelong student of the mystery and wonder of the feminine rites of passage: our own birth, menarche, childbirth, and menopause.
The moment I received the tangible confirmation, those two lines on my first pregnancy test, I became fascinated with all things pregnancy and natural childbirth. The birth of my first daughter taught me (and my husband) that childbirth is not a medical event. I am so grateful I experienced a positive, empowering hospital birth. Giving birth to her changed me and inspired me on my path to support others.
My husband and I went on to welcome three more babies at home. Two of these births were with midwives present, and one was a planned unassisted birth. I know deep within my bones what undisturbed birth can be—the transformative power and ecstasy of birthing in complete peace and sovereignty.
In my 20+ years as a mother I have moved through many rebirths, healings, and challenges. Each of these experiences has deepened my teachings and strengthened my devotion to understanding the magic and wisdom of our wombs.
I am honoured to walk alongside other women as they traverse their own profound rites of passage along the childbearing continuum. Beyond mothering my four incredible children, this is my calling and my life’s work.

I live near Burnaby Mountain with my family—my husband, José, and I have been in love for nearly 25 years. Together, we’re raising three incredible daughters and our adventurous son. And we’re lucky to share our home with our sweet orange tabby, Olive.
A few things about me:
I love walking in the woods, diving into the cold ocean for a quick, invigorating dip, and dancing spontaneously with my kids. I also nourish my body and soul with mindfulness and yoga, grounding me amidst the unpredictable rhythm of on-call life.
I’ve given birth at ages 21, 32, 34, and 38, and I can truly say enjoyed my pregnancies. The memories of birthing my babies are of the most sacred and cherished moments of my life.
I find joy in cooking delicious meals for my family, sharing belly laughs, and sipping my coffee while it’s still warm.
If you peek at my nightstand, you’ll find crystals, a journal, and at least two books in progress.
I’d love to connect with you—please book a connection call and tell me about yourself. I want to get to know YOU! :)

Over 20 years ago, my first pregnancy ignited my calling. The empowering, positive experience of giving birth to my first daughter set me on a lifelong path of studying childbirth and the wisdom of women’s bodies.
Since then, I’ve had the honour of crossing the threshold into motherhood three more times, and I feel incredibly grateful to have never been traumatized by my own birthing experiences.
I remain in awe of childbirth and its profound ability to transform us. It is my deepest devotion to guide others through the sacred Rite of Passage that is childbirth, helping them find their own unique path.

Yes, I support births in both home and hospital settings. I have experience with planned and emergency surgical births, hospital births with and without epidurals, VBACs, and homebirths.
While I believe that for most healthy, low-risk women and babies, homebirth is often the safest and most peaceful option, I understand that every birth is unique. I had my first baby in the hospital, and I have no regrets about that experience.
Ultimately, I trust mothers. You know your body and your baby best, and I’m here to support you in whichever setting you choose.

“The best decision we made during our pregnancy was to work with Katherine! We’re a couple that like to be informed and Katherine has a wealth of information on all things pre- and postpartum. This was especially valuable to us during delivery when we had already discussed any issues that came to the fore. Katherines kindness and positive energy throughout our journey is something we will always remember, cherish, and be grateful for. ***5 Stars***”
